Pavee Point’s Children’s Rights Referendum Working Group have sent us the following important message to pass on:
As you may already know, a referendum will be held on Children’s Rights possibly early November. It is important that all Travellers aged 18 and over have a voice in the outcome of this vote.
In order to have a voice you MUST be on the Electoral Register. You can check if you are on this Register in two ways:
- Online at www.checktheregister.ie, OR
- Every local authority in Ireland is responsible for compiling and publishing a list of voters in its area. Anyone can inspect this Register and it is available at all local authority offices, post offices, Garda stations and public libraries.
If your name is not on the Electoral Register, you may still make an application to be included in a Supplement to the Register so that you can vote in this upcoming referendum.
- An RFA2 form that must be completed and returned to your Local County Council Authority at least 15 days before the polling day. Please click on RFA2 Form to access a copy.
- All forms must reach your Local County Council by Saturday 15th October in order to be included on the supplement register.
Should you require any further information, please contact a member of Pavee Point’s Children’s Rights Referendum Working Group.
